Arduino is an open-source electronic prototyping platform enabling users to create interactive electronic objects.

Doped Up

I collaborated on this piece – commentary about the over-prescribing of drugs in America. It is meant to be an interactive piece in an art gallery. My role: technical consulting, circuit design, programming, solderingWorked with: Sharon

Calendar Reminder Prototype

I worked on this project with Caroline (she calls it Nudge, see more on her site). Essentially, it fetches Google calendar data and non-imposingly/slowly lights up a notification light on your watch. Check out my code on Github. My role:

I created a robotic ventriloquist dummy for a performer friend. This involved dissecting an off-the-shelf doll toy.

Skull & Twerk – Mechanism Design

I created these projects to illustrate using stepper motors and mechanisms. One is a twerk bot based on Miley Cyrus’ performance at the 2013 VMAs. The other is a skull (it was Halloween at the time) with a fun background

Open Source Limb Control

We created an API for the body, allowing remote control over the internet (iPhone accelerometer in the video) or through local devices (flex sensor attached to skeleton in the video).

Team photo for the Alamo art installation project

For the midterm project in my Spatial Media class, we were assigned different public spaces to augment with installation art. My group was assigned Alamo (aka Astor Place Cube). Since the space already had an interactive piece in it (you

Testing Velostat pressure sensor

Velostat is a cheap material to make a pressure sensor. Its flexible nature allows it to integrate into soft circuit applications. Here I tested a bit of it and found it capable of reading a nice range of output from

Metrix line-following Arduino robot

This is a line following Arduino robot I built at Metrix, my local makerspace. I’ve been taking classes at Metrix. It’s been a great opportunity to work with the Arduino and freshen-up on on my electronics skills. The video is
